It’s the eve before the first day of competition and the top 34 are getting their legs wet in fun sized Cloudbreak. Opening ceremonies commence today at 4pm on Tavarua. Fiji wildcard winner Isei Tokovou will take to the water in the first round against one of the top seeds in the world. The conditions are shaping up to be solid and Isei’s local knowledge of the barrel at Cloudbreak is second to none. If he gets an opportunity at a giant set wave you can bet he can get the big scores needed to advance.

Kelly still has to be the favourite in this event and yesterday he showed no sign of slowing down. Here’s a shot captured from the water by FSA photographer Stu Johnson. If someone wants to beat Kelly here they will have every opportunity; the swell is going to be EPIC!
