The Fijian Wildcard for the Volcom Fiji Pro 2012 is Isei Tokovou!

In the last of three Fiji Surfing Association trials contests at Cloudbreak reef, Isei was too good for ratings leader – Aca Racula and trumphed him in the final in epic 6-8 conditions on Wednesday.

In the best two of three contests Isei takes the wildcard slot from Aca, beating him in two out of three events (Isei won the first and last events, and crashed out of the second event in the first round, breaking his leash in the middle of the heat and spending valuable time on the inside retrieving his board and losing the ability to get scoring waves).

Paul Chongsue took third in the Trials ratings and Inia Nakalevu fourth. Together with second placed Aca Raculo they will all receive trophies at the opening ceremony to the main event on Saturday afternoon at Tavarua Island.

Isei is employed at Tavarua Island Resort, and his employers have given him some days off to prepare for his first heat, possibly on Sunday morning. All of Fiji’s hopes will be riding on Isei’s shoulders in the Volcom event and our best wishes and hopes go out to him!
