The Fiji Surfing Association would like to thank all those who attended the FSA Barefoot Black Tie charity dinner hosted by Vuda Marina on the weekend.

Just over 100 finely dressed guests attended this inaugural and hugely successful event which raised over $13,000 in much needed funds to go towards both the Fiji Nippers program and sending our top surfers’s to the Melanesian Cup in Samoa this year.

The Fiji Nippers program is helping to develop a surfing and surf lifesaving culture within Fiji and the FSA has big plans to expand this program from it’s Nadi beach base.

“What a great night” said Andy Eames, one of the event organisers “I would like to say a huge thank you to all those who helped put this all together, Alana Tilly, Danielle Beitzel Wulf, Lisa Philp, Bethan Paterson and Adam Wade. Without these 5 people the event wouldn’t have been such a success”

All the men dressed in board shorts, most with a suit jacket and black tie. The ladies came in their finest formal dresses. All enjoyed a fantastic 3 course meal prepared by The Boat Shed staff at Vuda Marina, and all had the opportunity to win some amazing prizes donated by huge array of sponsors.

A silent auction, a major auction, and raffles where all held on the night and between these three schemes – a total of over $13,000 was raised.

The Fiji Surfing Association sends a huge thank you to all the sponsors (Listed in no particular order : Fiji Beachouse, Chair in the Air, Surfari, Hideaway Resort and Spa, Senikai Spa, Denarau Surf Dive and Ski, Tropica Resort, Mandara Spa, Heli-tours Fiji, Stu & Malia Photography, Little Black Dress Empire, Smuggler’s Cove, LuLu’s Bar & Restaurant, Cardo’s Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar, Tavarua Island, Island Surf, Radisson, Fiji Rum Co., Fiji Water, Bulacinno and Vuda Marina.
